This is a wonderful enamel pendant necklace made by Quebec jewelry artisans Micheline de Passille and Yves Sylvestre.  

The piece consists of a pendant featuring an image of a bird in red with a silver tree and gold sun against a white background surrounded by black enamel and silver toned metal.  The pendant is hanging on a chain.  The back of the pendant is stamped “de Passille Sylvestre Fait au Quebec Made in Canada”.  This is a later production piece, probably dating to circa 1980.  The pendant measures a little over 1 3/4” in diameter and the chain has a length of 11 7/8”, doubled out straight.  It is in very good condition- the only "defect" noted is a bit of red colour that got onto the white background next to the bird, but this is original to the making of the piece and very minor in any case, mentioned only in the interest of full disclosure.

Quebec produced some very good jewelry artisans during the 60s and 70s, with de Passille and Sylvestre considered amongst the best.....this is a wonderful enameled pendant!
